This past weekend, I went home for a much needed mini-vacation back in Maryland. In both NYC and DC it was hot and humid with temperatures near 90, but at least with my Dad and Mark I’d be in a well air conditioned environment. Funny thing about going home to DC was I honestly forgot what suburbia looks like — there was so much green! So much grass! My allergies that I didn’t even know I had went haywire with so much nature around me. I kind of forgot I live in a concrete jungle (which I love don’t get me wrong!).
The house in Maryland is beautiful though!
Other than enjoying nature (from inside of course because its 90 degrees and I refuse to go out), I basically ate. Saturday I went out for brunch then a few hours later ate lunch then a few hours later started working on dinner which turned into 2-3 courses… I had some great meals out — a hearty breakfast at Silver dinner with GTR; appetizers and a great butternut squash risotto at Founding Farmers; oysters on oysters on oysters; and an awesome burger and beer with my friend Borman in Rockville.
Oh yeah and there’s an awesome fire pit on the deck too! Next time s’mores!!
