Breakfast in Bed(stuy) / New York's Bell, Book & Candle!

Last weekend, my aunt, Rebecca, her friend Patty and I went to brunch at Bell, Book and Candle. Bec had gone there when my Dad and Mark were in town (I couldn’t make it into the city that day) and had raved about it. This meal did not disappoint!

A little bit about the BBC – they focus on “local, organic, sustainable and overall responsible procurement” of their produce and ingredients. They have a rooftop garden where they grow their fruits and vegetables, which I think is really cool!

Interestingly “Bell, Book and Candle” is a phrase, which refers to the method of excommunication for one who has committed a grievous sin. It’s also the name of a 1958 movie with James Stewart and Kim Novak about a modern-day witch who enchants her neighbor to fall in love with her… the things you learn on the internet.

And now to the food porn! We decided on a bunch of small plates to start off. The burrata, fried oysters, the lobster taco, and the swedish meatballs.

We then split the French Toast and the BBC Burger! Everything was so good. I would have had everything on the menu!
